To put into context, I have often paid a lot, lot more, in hotels with a greater "star rating" and received considerably less in all aspects. From the moment I arrived, the staff at the desk were fantastic and, very kindly, I was upgraded from a double room to a suite, which I was not expecting. Now, I have in the past booked suites in various cities and this suite, whilst not huge, was one of if not the most comfortable I have ever been in. The hotel is in a beautiful part of Dublin and typically an expensive part too, this was without doubt the best value for money room I have ever had; not exaggerating but in the past I have paid ten times what I paid here for a suite in certain cities at five star hotels, yet this, whilst smaller than those rooms, was far more comfortable and cosy feeling, which is often hard to create in a hotel in a city centre. It had a king size bed which was very comfy and a wall mounted TV, along with the usual amenities; a separate living room with a very comfy sofa and another TV along with tea and coffee facilities plus a writing desk/workspace. The whole room was spotless, the staff were far more attentive than in a lot of other hotels I have stayed in. The bathroom was very clean and whilst it wasn't enormous, it only had a shower, it worked and honestly I didn't need more; for example I have paid a lot more for a similar room in the past, to find the shower only produces a trickle of water, well everything here worked perfectly and again, was spotless. The hotel itself, is an old beautiful town house and it retains that "homely" atmosphere throughout, it didn't try to be anything it wasn't and as a result, did not come across as cold or bland, really nice vibe. The Den Bar, produced more like restaurant quality food than that of a pub, absolutely exceptional and great value for money. Cannot rate the staff highly enough, so welcoming and friendly and sorted me a taxi without any fuss.

My initial room was very small and affected by the noise sounding like air-con generators. I would not have been able to sleep with that. I asked at reception if there were works around the area as I was not 100% sure it was due to generators or maybe some work in progress which may have stopped at night. It turned out it was the noise from kitchen generators. The reception staff came to investigate and immediately offered me a replacement room. I was happy with the new room and appreciated the helpful staff. Pleasant stay overall

The location is good. You can walk to central Dublin in about 15-30 minutes, depending on where you're going and the price reflects that distance. I'm a big walker so I enjoyed that. There are loads of buses, taxis and trams available as well. Staff is super friendly and helpful. We left our bags with them twice and they were very nice about it. The rooms are small but clean. We had 3 in a room and survived just fine! Hot water is good and plentiful. We were very satisfied.

Delia

The location of the hotel is great. It's just far enough out from the center to be like a real neighborhood with plenty of shops close by. I had the breakfast once and it was good but I had to pay extra. The staff was super helpful. My room was quiet. The lobby was well appointed, the building in good repair and if I needed anything, the staff was quick to respond. The pub downstairs was great. I went down almost every night.

Maria

We chose it for the location (convenient for both UCD and downtown) and the price. The area is very nice and on several bus routes. The room was somewhat small but well laid out and most importantly the mattress was comfortable. A few too many spiderwebs in window corners, but otherwise clean. Breakfast was good, and there are several other options nearby, as well as Tesco, etc.
